Message from the Director

August 2022

Welcome to our incoming Spark families and welcome back to our returning families! We are entering into our first year with all four grades and this will also be the first year with a graduation.

This year we will be focusing on building a positive school culture and developing our social skills as students move to graduation.  Communication is an important part of everyone’s success and this will continue to grow.  We want to get all of our families to come back to the school and become part of the process so that we are working together, to build our students' voices.

Last year we had a lot of firsts and this year we will continue to improve on our process and continue to grow as a school and a community.  Last year, our third year students started taking college classes and this year our current third years will begin that journey and our fourth years will continue it.  As a school we started several clubs: Art, Gaming, Yoga, and Yearbook; and we rebooted the Robotics team. We look forward to having our students look at what options they would like to have this year for extracurricular activities during Exploration Days.

Please read the Parent/Student Handbook carefully. Each school year brings updates that help  us remain relevant and provide our students with an orderly and focused school experience.  Handbooks are certainly about rules, but beyond that, they help us realize the goals  established for us in our vision and mission. In doing so, handbooks become an important road  map for us to follow.

Again, I want to welcome all of you to the 2022 - 2023 school year.
